A few days before the release on our screens from Men In Black III, the third installment of the opposition between the XV of France and his New Zealand counterpart within Cup Rugby World (excluding anecdotal match for 3rd place in 2003), it is certainly useful to Bernard Laporte and his faithful assistant, Jo Maso to call to mind the scenarios of both previous encounters against the legendary " All Blacks. Indeed, if they want to achieve their dream of wielding the William Web Ellis Cup on October 20 in the sky of Saint-Denis, they will certainly remember the mistakes and lessons of these two games forever inscribed in the history of rugby. This is undoubtedly a necessary condition for hope to retain a tiny hope of stemming next Saturday around 21h, the terrible oil spill announced on the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff for a quarter-finals of all dangers. Men In Black - The Rite of Blacks
(release date: June 7, 1987)
After an outstanding game of intensity and suspense comes against Australia in the semi-finals of the Blues "Little Corporal" Jacques Fouroux have the temerity to challenge ahead New Zealanders on their land in Auckland for the improbable feat of trying to prevent them from being inducted logically first world champions of rugby history. Rugby is the most popular sport in this small country on the other side of the world which was discovered in 1642 off the coast of Australia by Abel Tasman, Dutch navigator. He named this island "New Zealand" in honor of Zeeland province in the south west of his native country, which means "Land of Sea". The indigenous Maori call, meanwhile, land colonized by Polynesian ancestors 1300 years BC "Aotearoa," which means "land of the long white cloud".
few hours before the game, the Blues had the false good idea to come in costume on the lawn to come and pray in a circle. As the now famous meeting of reading the "letter of Guy Moquet" a few weeks ago before the France-Argentina (12-17), this scene of extreme emotion had the opposite effect of motivation than initially expected. In both cases, the tears shed or easily contained by the French players were fatal to their fighting spirit indispensable to the practice of a high level of combat team sport like rugby. With ultimately a 29-9 defeat, the French offered a great resistance (9-3 at halftime) but still insufficient to prevent the coronation announced the All Blacks.
Legend has long been that this nickname was given them on their first European tour after a British journalist, writing an article on them, called them "All Backs" (all rear-or all three quarters) in tribute to the great game of movement of their forwards. For their next game, following a typographical error, the term "All Blacks" this time which would have been written in the newspaper. In the absence of tangible proof of this theory, it is now generally abandoned by the experts in favor of that of a journalist who used the term "All Blacks" referring to the color of the holding of the outstanding rugby players for almost systematically mourning for their opponents.
Men In Black II - Revenge of the Blues
(release date: October 31, 1999)
In 1999, the Blues finally have the opportunity to take their revenge on the All Blacks in the semi- Final World Cup organized by the United Kingdom. After debuting in the competition unconvincing and in the absence of a real guideline in the game, then we see men of evil Tandem Skrela Villepreux win. One journalist even wrote that the only chance for the Blues win is that Blacks have a bus accident en route to the stadium ... It is therefore with genuine outsider label that this team still reeling from a historic defeat suffered in Wellington a few months earlier against the same opponent, appears on the Twickenham turf to try to defeat the armada of stars New Zealand (Mehrtens, Umaga, Cullen, Kronfeld ...) led by the phenomenal Jonah Lomu.
In the interpretation of the Haka, with the exception of Olivier Magne and Richard Dourthe who decide to turn back, Blues choose the challenge of psychological warfare strong supporter of the eyes of their opponents as if to warn them that they have nothing to lose are willing to fight a historic and strongly defend their honor. For New Zealand, the Maori dance ritual (usually performed to welcome or go to war) is a fundamental element of their national identity. The All Blacks use it before matches in order to impress their opponents in a systematic way only since 1987 and the first World Cup. Before this competition, the Haka was only used when All Blacks tour of foreign countries.
unimpressed, the Blues All Blacks scramble entry thanks to their aggressiveness and their defensive cohesion. And even if at the end of the first half, it was the New Zealand leading the score (17 to 10), that they fall head down to the locker room being aware of having underestimated the ability of resistance of the France team. Early in the second period the Blues begin, little by little, read the fear in the eyes of some All Blacks who had neglected the preparation of this match so-called foregone conclusion.
So it's almost logical that Dominici and Bernat-Salles Dourthe marked the French tests to offer the French sports one of the finest feats in its history with the victory 43-31. Bernard Laporte, then a consultant for TF1, said even during the game: "Nobody expected this level, not even us." After adding 33 points in 30 minutes to an invincible team we thought the Blues have even managed that day, the feat of singing the national anthem to the many English supporters present at Twinkenham.
Men In Black III - The beautiful Cardiff
(release date : October 6, 2007)
In view of the France team that will be aligned next Saturday in Cardiff, it seems clear that the young Beauxis tenure held at the opening on the back of Traille and Heymans to wing are clear signs of the will of Bernard Laporte to evade the pressure the All Blacks in effectively using the kicking game (as was done so well Lamaison Tito in 1999). Psychological level, the Blues should not repeat the useless emotions sequences of 1987 and the opening match against the Argentines. Given the current performance of Lionel Nallet and Dimitri Szarzewski, attendance leaders Charismatic Fabien Pelous and Raphael Ibanez in the starting XV certainly explained the need to pass to their teammates to the spirit of 1999 they managed to hoist the highest possible level of play
terms Technically, the French will approach the game as the Argentines have done against them during the opening match. Ie with aggression at all times so they can compete in challenges in the stages of conquest. This is certainly a recipe for avoiding a heavy defeat as in 1987. If things start going wrong, the back during a match of the impact player by Sebastien Chabal excellence should worry all New Zealanders who still remember the broken jaw of teammate Ali Williams in the new advertising icon of French rugby in the last game between two teams last July on the side of Wellington.
Anyway, the battle promises to be intense Saturday night in Welsh land. The conquest of the "good of Cardiff and an accession in the semifinals is no doubt that price. Line of sight with the British or the Australians in the semifinals and then the South Africans or the Argentinians in the final if they reissued their opening game feat. Anyway, repeat as the urge Bernard Laporte last few days: "To be world champion, must beat every team." The message has the merit of clarity: our future secretary of state for sport is not particularly want to anticipate its decision-ministerial function.
another fortnight he continue his career as an additional coach's dream everything (without much conviction, as in 1999!) All supporters of the France team.
